Find it in your Downloads folder, and double-click it.
Drag Mobou to Applications
In the window that opens, drag the Mobou icon onto the Applications folder.

Each release has an Apple Developer ID signature, and Apple notarized it. Each update has the Mobou signature too.
Your work stays on your Mac
Your chats, projects, and files stay on your Mac. Your questions go only to the AI companies that you connect.
You approve each risky action
Before an AI changes files, runs a command, or installs an app, Mobou shows an approval card. Nothing happens until you approve it.
Mobou is a beta. It can have errors and lose data. Keep a backup of important work, and do not put sensitive information in Mobou, for example passwords, payment details, or ID numbers.
Which Mac do I need?
A Mac with an Apple chip (M1 or later) and macOS 12 or later. Mobou does not run on a Mac with an Intel chip yet.
Does Mobou cost money?
No. Mobou is free during the beta. You use your own AI plans or API keys, and their costs and limits apply.
Which AI do I need?
At least one of these: a ChatGPT plan with Codex, a Claude Pro or Max plan with Claude Code, or an API key from a company such as OpenAI or Anthropic. Mobou finds Codex and Claude Code on your Mac. If one is missing, Mobou can install it for you after you allow it.
What does macOS ask when I open Mobou the first time?
macOS asks if you want to open an app from the internet. Click Open. Apple checked this release of Mobou before we published it.
How does Mobou update?
Mobou checks for updates by itself. When an update is ready, click Restart. Each update has the Mobou signature, and Mobou refuses an update without it.
How do I remove Mobou?
Quit Mobou, then drag it from the Applications folder to the Bin. Your chats stay on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/xyz.mobou.desktop until you delete that folder.
