How it works
Your team, inside Claude Code and Codex.
You stay in your own app. In Claude Code, you can ask GPT and your other AIs through Mobou. In Codex, you can ask Claude. The answer comes back into your chat.
Setup
Ready in four steps.
You do this one time.
Download Mobou
Download the beta. Then drag Mobou to your Applications folder.
Choose Claude Code and Codex
Open Mobou. On the first screen, choose “Only use Mobou in Claude Code and Codex”. This choice shows when Claude Code or Codex is on your Mac.
Sign in to your AIs
Sign in to GPT through Codex, with a ChatGPT plan, or to Claude through Claude Code, with Claude Pro or Max. One AI is enough to start. Add a second AI later in the chat.
Open a new chat
Mobou adds itself to Claude Code and Codex. Click Done, then open a new chat there. A chat that was open before the setup does not see Mobou.
Mobou works in the background, with no window. If Mobou is closed, Claude Code or Codex opens it for you. To see the window again, click Mobou in the Dock.
New in Mobou 0.1.11
Add a second AI without leaving the chat.
You do not open the Mobou app. Claude Code or Codex sets it up with you.
Ask your team
Type
/ask-team. If your team has only Claude, Claude asks: “Your team has only me. Do you want to add GPT or Gemini? I can set it up now.”Say which AI
Answer “Gemini”. Or say no, and Claude does the work alone. Claude does not ask again in that chat.
Click Allow
One question shows in the chat: “Install Gemini from Google (Antigravity) and open Google sign-in?” Nothing is installed before you click Allow.
Google's own sign-in page opens in your browser. Sign in there. Then Claude says “Gemini is on your team”, and your first request continues.
Mobou and your AI never see your password. Never paste a password or an API key in the chat. For an AI with an API key, for example DeepSeek or Kimi, Mobou opens a small window for the key. In Codex, Claude and Gemini are the choices.
In Claude Code
Ask GPT from inside Claude Code.
Type /ask-team, or ask in your own words. Claude Code asks your other AIs through Mobou. Mobou does not ask Claude, because Claude asked the question.
Type /ask-team
For example:
/ask-team check my last change. Your other AIs check the work. Claude Code then shows where they agree and where they disagree.Or use your own words
No slash is necessary. Say “GPT, can you check this?” or “Get a second opinion from the team.”
Ask one teammate with its command
For example:
/gpt make a logoor/gemini review this plan. The commands match your own team: each teammate on your team has its own command, with its name. When a teammate joins or leaves, its command comes or goes.Ask for an image
Say “Ask GPT to make a logo.” The image comes back into the chat, and the file is in your project folder.
See or change the team
Type
/mobou-teamto see the team. Type/mobou-team add Geminior/mobou-team GPT thinking highto change it.Choose how hard they think
The thinking levels are auto, low, medium, high, and max. For one question only, say “Ask GPT with max thinking to review this plan.” You can also name a model from
/mobou-team.The gray hint shows your team
After you type
/ask-team, the gray hint shows who answers, for example “GPT high · Gemini”.
In Codex (GPT)
Ask Claude from inside Codex.
Codex works the same way, with Claude as the teammate. Say what you want in your own words. You can name the skill: ask-team or mobou-team.
Ask the team
Say “use ask-team to check my last change”. Claude and your other AIs check the work. Codex then shows where they agree and where they disagree.
Ask Claude by name
Say “ask Claude to review this plan”. Only Claude answers.
Or type its command
In Codex, a command starts with $. Type “$claude review this plan”. Each teammate on your own team has its own command, for example “$gemini”.
See or change the team
Say “use mobou-team” to see the team. Say “mobou-team add Gemini” or “mobou-team Claude thinking high” to change it.
Behind the screen
What happens when you ask.
Your AI and the teammate do not share a chat. Mobou carries the request to the teammate, and the answer back to you.
Your AI writes the request
Claude Code or Codex writes one full request: the goal, the files, and the exact question. The teammate does not see your chat.
Mobou starts the teammate
The teammate starts in the same project folder, with its own tools. It uses your own plan for that AI.
The teammate does the work
It reads the files, runs commands, searches the web, or makes images. A risky action waits for your approval.
The answer comes back
The answer and the images come back into your chat. Your AI shows where the teammates agree and disagree, and what it thinks.
A request can take a few minutes. A team review can take up to 15 minutes. While a teammate works, a progress line shows each minute.
Safety
You approve the risky steps.
Risky actions need your approval
Before a teammate runs a command, changes your files, or uses a connected app, it asks you.
Answer where you work
The question shows in Claude Code or Codex. Choose Allow or Deny there, or on the card in the Mobou app. With no answer, the teammate continues without that action.
You decide where Mobou is
Mobou changes only what it added to Claude Code and Codex. If you remove Mobou from an app, Mobou does not add it again.
New in Mobou 0.1.7
When one AI stops, the job continues.
The next AI takes the job
If one AI cannot work, for example because its daily limit is used up, Mobou moves the job to the next AI in your team. This is also true when you named the AI. Mobou tells you at once, and the answer says which AI did the job.
Questions run at the same time
Ask from two chats at the same time. One request does not wait for the other.
A restart does not lose the request
An update waits until your requests are done. If Mobou closes during a request, it opens again and asks one more time.
Limits
What to know before you start.
Mac only
Mobou runs on a Mac with an Apple chip (M1 or later) and macOS 12 or later.
Claude Code and Codex only
It does not work in the claude.ai chat or in the ChatGPT app.
Your own plans
Each AI uses your own plan or API key. Its costs and limits apply. Mobou does not sell AI plans.
No shared chat
A teammate does not see your chat. It gets only the request that your AI writes.
Commands
What to type, in one table.
In Claude Code, a command starts with a slash. In Codex, a teammate command starts with $, and you can say the rest in your own words. The teammate commands match your own team.
| Type this | In | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/ask-team check my last change | Claude Code | Your other AIs check the work. You see where they agree and disagree. |
/gpt make a logo | Claude Code | Asks GPT only. Each teammate on your own team has a command with its name, for example /gemini or /kimi-k2. The commands change when your team changes. |
/gpt | Claude Code | Opens the team bar above the prompt, with GPT. Choose the model and the effort there. Your messages go to GPT until you close the bar. |
/ask-team | Claude Code | Opens the team bar with your whole team. Click × to take an AI off the bar, or + to add one. |
/gpt use Sol 6, high: review this plan | Claude Code | Asks GPT one time, with that model and that effort. |
GPT, can you check this? | Claude Code | Asks GPT. No slash is necessary. |
Get a second opinion from the team | Claude Code, Codex | Asks all your teammates. |
Ask GPT to make a logo | Claude Code | GPT makes the image. The image comes back into the chat. |
/mobou-team | Claude Code | Shows the team: each teammate, its model, and its thinking level. |
/mobou-team add Gemini | Claude Code | Adds Gemini to the team. If Gemini is not set up, Mobou installs Google's app after you click Allow, and opens Google sign-in. |
/mobou-team remove Gemini | Claude Code | Removes Gemini from the team. |
/mobou-team GPT thinking high | Claude Code | Sets how hard GPT thinks: auto, low, medium, high, or max. |
Ask GPT with max thinking to review this plan | Claude Code | Uses max thinking for this question only. |
use ask-team to check my last change | Codex | Claude and your other AIs check the work. |
ask Claude to review this plan | Codex | Asks Claude only. |
$claude review this plan | Codex | Asks Claude only. Each teammate on your own team has a command with its name, for example $gemini. |
use mobou-team | Codex | Shows the team. Add words to change it, for example “mobou-team Claude thinking high”. |
Must the Mobou window stay open?
No. Mobou works in the background. If Mobou is closed, Claude Code or Codex opens it for you and waits until it is ready.
Claude Code does not see Mobou. What do I do?
Open a new chat. A chat that was open before the setup does not see Mobou. If you installed Claude Code or Codex after Mobou, quit Mobou and open it again. Mobou adds itself each time it opens.
Does the teammate see my chat?
No. Your AI writes one full request for the teammate: the goal, the files, and the exact question. The teammate works in the same project folder, so it can read the files.
How long does a request take?
A request usually takes a few minutes. A team review can take up to 15 minutes. Progress lines show while the teammates work.
Which AIs can be on the team?
GPT, Claude, Gemini, or a model with an API key, for example DeepSeek or Kimi. Type /mobou-team add and its name. If the AI is not set up, Mobou installs the company's app after you click Allow, and opens the company's own sign-in. For a key, Mobou opens a small window.
How do I remove Mobou from Claude Code or Codex?
In Claude Code, run claude mcp remove mobou --scope user. In Codex, delete the [mcp_servers.mobou] part of ~/.codex/config.toml. To remove the skills, delete the ask-team and mobou-team folders in ~/.claude/skills or ~/.codex/skills. Mobou does not add again what you removed. When you remove the Mobou server, Mobou also removes the command of each teammate the next time Mobou opens.
Free beta for Mac
Ask your team from your next chat.
Install Mobou in one minute. Then open a new chat in Claude Code or Codex.
For a Mac with an Apple chip (M1 or later) and macOS 12 or later. Mobou is a beta. Privacy summary
